Pittsburgh Penguins Elite tryouts will be rescheduled once UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex reopens.

In light of the ongoing developments resulting from the coronavirus and following the direction of the CDC and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex will be closed until further notice. We will continue to closely monitor all changes in the CDC, federal, state and local heath guidelines. The health and safety of our participants, guests, employees and partners remains our top priority. 

With that being said, Pittsburgh Penguins Elite tryouts will be rescheduled once the facility reopens.

Several Pittsburgh Penguins Elite players were invited to regional and national camps that will be taking place this summer.

A total of 18 Pens Elite girls were invited to the Multi-District Camp that will take place at Kent State from August 4th through the 9th. Those invited include 2002’s Faith Anthony, Eva Dorr, Brianna Medved, Serena Slusarcyk, Haley Steffey and Corin Trejchel; 2003’s Lily Hartnell, Isabella Hervert, Hannah Humes, Kaitlyn Schooley and Brianna Walkom; 2004’s Alexis Jones and Madelynne Lane; and 2005’s Hannah Fetterolf, Britta Klinke, Rachel McCrea, Addie Murdoch and Jillian Piscitelli. Two Pens Elite goalies were also invited to the Multi-District Goalie Camp at Kent State from July 7th-12th. Shelby Noelscher and Catherine Creighton are the goalies that were selected to attend.

Additionally, 11 girls were invited to USA Hockey National Player Development Camps. Those invited Girls 15U Camp in St. Cloud, Minnesota include Jaidan Fahrny, Dylan Green, Ava McNaughton, Cornelia Nicholson and Isabelle Powell. There will also be a Girls 16/17U Camp in St. Cloud and several Pens Elite girls from the 2002 and 2003 birth year were invited including Sophia Bellina, Ellie Marcovsky, Mallory Mauracher, Lily Stumm and Aubrey Suttelle. Finally, Laney Potter and Katherine Khramstov who played for the 14U Girls team in 2018-19 were invited to the Girls Under-18 Select Camp in St. Cloud in mid-July.

17 boys in the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization were invited to the 15U Kent State Camp taking place from June 11th-15th. Those invited include Cole Bianchin, Connor Chi, Logan Cooley, Matthew Dimarsico, Noah Eyre, Thomas Healy, Zachary Hixon, John Humphreys, Evan Konyen, Jeffrey Kreidler, Adam Mahler, Colton Mauser, Alexander Ondos, Caden Pendo, Paul Potosnak, Saxen Robertson and Thomas Whitford.

For the 2005 birth years, 24 total Pens Elite boys were invited to the 14U Sylvania Camp. Those invited were Aidan Briggs, Tyler Burket, Jon Burkhart, Connor Ferguson, Zack Ferris, Brady Gilbert, Benjamin Grasser, Parker Hawn, Cameron Herr, Cal Huston, William Kiray, Jonathan Nichols, TJ Richey, Davis Ross, Brendan Schooley, Wes Schwarzmiller, Tyler Shaver, Rory Shegan Siniawski, Austin Steckman, Brandon Svoboda, John Takos, Connor Varmecky, Reid West and Braeden Whitesell.

14 Pens Elite boys were selected to USA Hockey National Player Development Camps. The Boys Select 17 camp in Amherst, New York included 4 PPE players as Aden Bruich, Tyler Kennedy, Cole Oravitz and Alexander Servango were invited. All 10 players who were invited to the Boys Select 16 Camp in Amherst are from the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization. Teddy Sawyer, Austin Oravetz, Patrick Silhanek, Joey Potter, Jackson Morehouse, Shawn O’Donnell, Nicholas Sewecke, Evan Vanden Heuvel, Michael Hurst, Andrew Pichora were the members of PPE that were invited to the camp.

In total, 61 players were invited to Mid-Am camps and 25 players were invited to USA Hockey National Camps. Congratulations to all players who received invitations!
