Mackenzie King, a forward for the 16U Girls Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team, has committed to Holy Cross to continue her hockey career at the NCAA Division I level. Mackenzie has come up through the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization starting with the 10U team and working her way through the ranks. She began playing youth hockey with the Mt. Lebanon Hornets and currently is a member of the Arctic Foxes Midget boys team.

“Kenzie is a hard worker on and off the ice. She is a player who uses her speed to her advantage and is always a big part of her team’s success,” said Abby Greenbaum, who coached Mackenzie’s Pens Elite 12U and 14U teams.

From its creation until the 2015-16 season, the Holy Cross women’s hockey team competed in the Division III New England Hockey Conference before moving to Division I in 2017. After playing as an independent in 2017-18, the Crusaders joined Hockey East for the 2018-19 season.

Congratulations to Mackenzie on the commitment and good luck!
