2006 Black Team Wins Winter Ice Challenge

The Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 2006 Black team recently returned home from Buffalo, New York as champions of the 2019 Winter Ice Challenge.

The Pens Elite squad was successful in group play as they posted a record of 2-0-1 with wins over the Scarborough Young Bruins (8-1) and Duffield Devils (5-1) and a 5-5 tie with the Toronto Wolverines. After finishing second in their division with 5 out of a possible 6 points, the 06 Black team advanced to the semi-finals.

The hometown Buffalo Regals proved no match as the Pens Elite team outscored them 5-1 and advanced to the Final for a rematch with the Duffield Devils.

The rematch proved to be no different from the original as the 06 Black Pens Elite team claimed the championship in decisive fashion with a 4-1 score line.

Congrats to the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 2006 Black team on their tournament victory and good luck with the rest of the season!
