The 11th annual Warren Strelow National Goaltending Camp wrapped up last week as elite goaltenders from around the country attended the four day event. The Strelow Goaltending Camp is organized by USA Hockey and features some of the top goaltenders that are eligible for international play. The camp took place from August 14-17 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Among the 27 participants was Pittsburgh Penguins Elite goaltender Aidan Campell. Campbell, who was a member of the 15U team last season and will play on the 16U Pens Elite team this season.

It is an honor for Campbell to be invited to attend this camp as he was one of only seven 2002 birth year goaltenders in attendance. The camp covered both physical and mental elements of goaltending and was run by goaltending coaches and scouts from USA Hockey, NHL clubs, and other professional and college teams. This year, for the first time, USA Hockey invited current professional goaltenders to participate in the camp in an effort to foster natural mentorship with the young goaltenders. Developing the next generation of American goaltenders is the primary focus of the Warren Strelow Goltending Camp.

Being invited to this camp is an opportunity for Aidan to improve as a goaltender but is also an incredible accomplishment. Congratulations Aidan on being selected for such a prestigious event!
