Only twenty-two hockey players were selected to represent Team USA at the upcoming Under-18 Women’s Select Teams showcase series against Canada so it should go without saying that it is an honor for Lauren Bernard to be selected to the team.

After participating earlier this month in the USA Hockey Women’s National Festival, Bernard was selected to participate in the 3 game showcase against Canada that will take place from August 16-19 at Markin MacPhail Center in Calgary, Alberta.

Bernard, a native of Madison, Ohio, played the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 16U team that reached Nationals in both seasons and finished as national runners up in 2017. Lauren began with the Pens Elite organization with the 12U team and progressed to the 14U and 16U levels. She recently committed to Clarkson University in New York and will begin her collegiate career in 2019-20.

Representing one’s country is a huge honor and an accomplishment that should not be overlooked! Congratulations and good luck in Calgary, Lauren!
