Coach Cermak's 2002 Elite team was the first to participate in this season's Mighty Penguins - Penguins Elite partnership. The scrimmage between the 2002 Elite and the Mighty Pens Senior team was the first of many planned between various Pens Elite teams and Mighty Pen's players.
