Pens Elite Celebrates 19u 2024 Senior and 2023 Post Graduates

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization is thrilled to celebrate the girls' 19u team and the remarkable journeys of the seniors graduating in 2024, as well as the postgraduates of 2023. As these talented female athletes transition into the next phase of their academic and athletic careers, we take a moment to recognize their journeys within the dynamic world of hockey.

This is an opportunity to acknowledge accomplishments, relish cherished memories, and explore the future aspirations of each graduate. From triumphs on the ice to lasting friendships, let's appreciate the inspiring stories of our graduating seniors and postgraduates.


#2 Sydney Pinti

#2 Sydney Pinti - Class of 2024 Senior

Sydney Pinti, a senior from the Class of 2024 with an impressive 13-year hockey journey. Sydney, daughter of Jim and Andrea Pinti, fondly recalls the bus trip to Detroit as her favorite memory. Sydney expresses gratitude for the amazing friendships and memories at Pens Elite. She'll miss the incredible bonds and unforgettable moments. Sydney's advice to younger players: "Work hard, have fun, and remember, everything happens for a reason."

Sydney is set to play college hockey and major in education.

#4 Teagan Radeke

#4 Teagan Radeke - Class of 2024 Senior

Teagan Radeke, is a senior from the Class of 2024 with 14 years of hockey experience.  Daughter of Brandon and Kara Radeke, Teagan fondly recalls beating Shattuck at nationals to advance to the quarter-finals as her cherished memory.  She'll miss getting to play with her best friends. Her advice to younger players: "Cherish every moment you have because it goes by in the blink of an eye."

As Teagan embarks on her next chapter, her college choice remains undecided, but her sights are set on a business major.

#5 Emma Simon

#5 Emma Simon - Class of 2023 Post Grad

Emma Simon, a postgraduate with 13 years of hockey experience, daughter of Bud and Tara Simon, reminisces about the bus trip that brought the team closer. She'll miss the new friends made and the unique bonds formed. Emma's advice to younger players: "Everyone’s hockey path and journey is so different! Just remember to never compare yourself to someone else and just continue to work hard. Also, just remember to have fun and make special memories with your teammates because those are the things you’ll look back on when you get older, it goes by too fast."

Emma's future includes playing collegiate hockey at Adrian College in MI, and studying criminal justice and psychology.

#6 Keegan Sanderfoot

#6 Keegan Sanderfoot - Class of 2024 Senior

Keegan Sanderfoot, a senior with 9 years of hockey experience, is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Sanderfoot. Her cherished memories include the team's bus trip to Detroit and fostering new connections with fellow players. As she bids farewell, her advice for younger players is to “always be positive and stay open to new experiences.” 

Keegan's future plans are still in the making, and she is filled with anticipation for the exciting opportunities that await in the next phase of her journey.

#9 Kaylee Simon

#9 Kaylee Simon - Class of 2024 Senior

Kaylee Simon, a senior with 11 years of hockey experience, and daughter of Bud and Tara Simon, treasure the memories of the bus trip to Detroit. She'll miss the unique bonds and irreplaceable friendships forged at Pens Elite. Kaylee's advice to younger players is to "always work hard, stay dedicated, and never be afraid to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Embrace challenges, learn from your mistakes, and enjoy it while it lasts because it will go by in the blink of an eye".

Kaylee be attending Adrian College in MI to play hockey and pursue Physical Therapy.

#16 Avery Saba

#16 Avery Saba - Class of 2024 Senior

Avery Saba, a senior with 11 years on the ice, daughter of Dave and Shelly Saba, fondly remembers the Easter egg hunt organized in Canada at 10U. She'll miss all her teammates who have become lifelong friends. Avery advises younger players that "the girls you meet here will be your lifelong friends and sisters, so cherish the time you have every day with them because it goes by in a flash."  

Avery is set to attend Brown University in Providence, RI to study behavioral sciences and play hockey.

#18 Zoey Krock

#18 Zoey Krock - Class of 2024 Senior

Zoey Krock, a senior with 13 years of hockey experience, daughter of Tim and Erin Krock, highlights hosting nationals in Pittsburgh as her favorite memory. She'll miss playing with teammates who have become her closest friends. Zoey's advice "To have fun and enjoy all the moments while you can because it truly does go by so fast. If things get hard or aren't going your way, don't get discouraged, and remember the reason why you started playing. Always believe in yourself." 

Zoey is set to continue her hockey athletic career at the University of Minnesota Duluth while pursuing Rehabilitation and Exercise Science.

#27 Mya Kearns

#27 Mya Kearns - Class of 2024 Senior

Mya Kearns, a senior with 8 years on the ice, daughter of Chris and Michelle Kearns, treasures the memory of beating Shattuck-St. Mary's at nationals in 2022. She'll miss the friends she made growing up around the organization. Mya's advice: “Enjoy every moment, because before you know it, it will all be over.”

Mya plans to continue her hockey athletic and academic career at Robert Morris University.

#37 Cordie Wemyss

#37 Cordie Wemyss - Class of 2024 Senior

Cordie Wemyss, a senior with 11 years of hockey experience, daughter of Paul and Tara Wemyss, fondly recalls the Easter egg hunt, the crazy big hotel with the water slide in Canada during the 10U season. She'll miss the friendships created through the program. Cordie advises "to fight through adversity and combat your struggles with perseverance. Things may not always go your way, and you may not make a team, but it is what you do after failure that truly expresses who you are as a player and a person. Don’t be afraid to push yourself out of your comfort zone. I encourage you to move forward on your journey playing this amazing sport and don’t take any day for granted. Take the opportunities you get and make every memory last."   

Cordie plans to continue her hockey athletic career while pursuing studies in biology at Utica University in NY, with aspirations to become a doctor.

#41 Hannah Baxter

#41 Hannah Baxter - Class of 2023 Post Grad

Hannah Baxter, a postgraduate with 7 years of experience, and daughter of Fergus and Christine Baxter, treasures every goal scored. She'll miss the friends made in Pittsburgh. Hannah's advice to younger players: "Don’t chirp at the ref."

Hannah's future includes playing hockey and studying computer science at Western New England University in Springfield, MA.

#55 Savanna Muir

#55 Savanna Muir - Class of 2024 Senior

Savanna Muir, a senior with 12 years of hockey experience, daughter of Ben and Dayna Muir, fondly remembers being part of dj3way with her friends Neely and Alyssa. She'll miss traveling to tournaments and spending time with teammates in hotels. Savanna advises young players to keep their confidence on the ice.

Savanna plans to play hockey and study business and marketing in college.

#65 Mei Diesing

#65 Mei Diesing - Class of 2023 Post Grad

Mei Diesing, a postgraduate with 11 years of experience, daughter of Brad and Kazuko Diesing, recalls her fondest memory of playing basketball with the team after testing day. She'll miss the friends made during her time at Pens Elite. Mei advises younger athletes against rushing the process and playing for the love of the sport.

Mei is set to play college hockey at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN studying business and sports management.

#72 Aunna Schulte

#72 Aunna Schulte - Class of 2024 Senior

Aunna Schulte, a senior with 12 years on the ice, daughter of Pete and Natalie Schulte, fondly remembers meeting everyone on the first day of the season, playing basketball with her team after a game, and running 300s with her teammates. She'll miss the tight connections and sisterhood with her new teammates. Aunna's advice: "Your teammates are your sisters for life. Cherish the moments you have as a youth hockey player because you will find the best people and the best memories. Just have fun playing the sport you love."

Aunna is set to play hockey for Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN studying business marketing and minoring in communications.
