Congratulations to the 2011 Hannan Pens Elite team who won a championship this weekend in Rochester at the Just Get Good Kick-Off Classic. In only 7 games, the squad tallied 51 goals and posted a perfect record to earn the title of champions in the season-opening tournament. 

In group play, the 2011 boys were dominant, only allowing 1 goal and posting wins over the Ohio Blue Jackets (6-0), Minutemen Flames (8-0) and NJ Titans (7-1). In their round of 16 matchup against the New Jersey Colonials, the Pens Elite boys didn’t skip a beat in a convincing 5-1 victory. 

The next day, with the gauntlet of a tripleheader of games needed to claim victory, the 2011s never blinked as they dispatched Victory Honda 5-1 in the quarterfinals and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 7-0 in the semi-final to book a date with Florida Alliance in the decisive game on Sunday night. 

While they performed well throughout the tournament, in the deciding game, the team seemed to click on all cylinders and the result was a remarkable 13-2 scoreline against Florida Alliance.
