Congratulations to the 14U Girls Pens Elite squad who won some hardware over the Labor Day weekend! Playing in the Labor Day Girls Fest, the girls managed to outscore their opponents 25-8 while maintaining a perfect record and topping the Minnesota Jr. Whitecaps in the championship game to cap off the weekend. 

Group play consisted of wins over Assabet Valley (5-1), the Rochester Jr. Americans (9-1), the Waterloo Ravens (2-1) and Detroit Belle Tire (3-1). After their undefeated run through the opening round a close matchup with the Stoney Creek Sabers needed extra time to decide the winner and the Pens Elite girls triumphed in a shootout to reach the final. 

The championship game against the Minnesota Jr. Whitecaps also went to overtime. In the end, the girls would not be denied and they claimed the tournament title with an overtime win by a 3-2 scoreline.
