PPE alumni Logan Cooley and Ty Voit were both invited to attend the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation camp that is taking place in Plymouth, Michigan from July 24 - August 3. As Team USA prepares for unique circumstances with two World Junior tournaments taking place in the span of four months due to COVID issues at the event last December, both Pens Elite alumni will try to stake their claim to represent their country. The 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship, originally scheduled for last December, will take place in Edmonton, Alberta from August 9 - August 20 with the final roster for that tournament set to be announced at the conclusion of this evaluation camp. Team USA will also compete in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship which is set to take place from December 26 - January 5 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick.

Logan Cooley from West Mifflin, PA most recently played for the U18 team and the US National Team Development Program and is one of the top prospects for this year’s NHL Entry Draft in July. Ty Voit from Wexford, PA is coming off a season where he lead the Sarnia Sting of the OHL with 80 points in 67 games after being drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2021. Both Logan and Ty played multiple seasons in the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization and continue to make a name for themselves with the invitation to the USA Hockey evaluation camp just another example.

Congrats to both Logan and Ty and good luck in Plymouth!
