Pittsburgh Penguins Elite alum Austin Oravetz has been named to the USHL All-Academic team after an outstanding year on and off the ice with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. This past season, Austin, a right shot defenseman, played in 62 games and recorded 2 goals and 19 assists and a +12 rating. While Austin had a great first season of junior hockey and helped his team on the ice, earning the number 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, this honor was earned by Austin for his academic excellence. Six players in total were named to the All-Academic Team and in a league with 12 teams and over 250 players, this is a tremendous honor for Austin to receive!

Prior to his season with Dubuque, Austin played in the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization from 2012 through 2021 and was drafted by Dubuque in the 2020 USHL Entry Draft. A native of Canonsburg, PA, Austin was a team captain during his PPE tenure and won a USA Hockey National Championship with the 16U team during the 2018-19 season.

Congratulations to Austin from the entire Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization on this outstanding honor!
