Alum Jackson Morehouse currently completed his first year in the BCHL playing for the Victoria Grizzlies. Jackson is a former captain and member of our 2019 16U National Championship team. He is also committed to play college hockey at Dartmouth.
We caught up to chat about his time in the Pens Elite program (2012-2021) and how he has adjusted to the BCHL.

Pens Elite prepares every player for the next level in the best ways. The professionalism expected at PPE makes it so there is little adjustment necessary in juniors.
Wake up and eat breakfast and then head to the gym to workout. We usually have practice around 2:00 which lasts until 4:00.
I owe the Pens Elite everything. There truly is no better place to develop as a hockey player and a person. The level of training I received is unmatched and I really don’t know where I would be without it.

The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex is my favorite rink to play in because we always had a really good record at home and we knew it was very important to defend our home ice.
My least favorite rink is in Merritt because it is 2/3 the size of a normal ice surface.
Listen to your coaches and trainers they know what they are talking about and at the end of the day they just want you to get better. You have the best facility in the country so take advantage of it, everyday is an opportunity to get better. Most importantly if things aren’t going your way don’t use excuses, just put your head down and work. Those who work the hardest will always surpass those who don’t no matter the skill level.
