Logan Cooley, an alumnus of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization has been named to Team USA roster for the upcoming IIHF Men's U18 World Championship. Cooley is a member of the US National Team Development Program and represented the Pens Elite organization for five years.
The 2021 U18 World Championships will be held in Frisco and Plano, Texas and will get underway on April 26. Team USA has medaled in 16 consecutive tournaments including their most recent result: a bronze medal at the 2019 tournament in Sweden.
Logan and Team USA will open the preliminary round against Russia on April 26 and their schedule will also consist of matchups with Germany (April 27), the Czech Republic (April 29) and Finland (May 1). From there, the top 4 in each group will advance to the quarterfinals (May 3) and the semifinals will be played on May 5 before the Gold Medal Game on May 6.
