Four DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite teams will be heading to Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the MidAm District Playoffs. The 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U Prep teams have all qualified for the event and the winners will advance to the USA Hockey Nationals. 

The 14U team will open with a game on Friday, March 5 against the Ohio Blue Jackets and will play the Pittsburgh Vengeance later in the day. Their final matchup will be against the Tri-State Spartans on Saturday, March 6. 

The 15U’s will open against the Pittsburgh Predators on Friday, March 5 before a back-to-back on March 6 against the Esmark Stars and the Mt. Lebanon Hornets. 

The 16U’s will open the district tournament with back-to-back games against the Cleveland Barons and Mt. Lebanon Hornets on Friday, March 5. They will face off with Gilmour Academy in the afternoon on Saturday, March 6. 

The 18U Prep team will have three games in three days as their schedule kicks off on Thursday, March 4 with a game against Gilmour Academy. Next, they will face the Tri-State Spartans on Friday, March 5 and Cleveland Barons on Saturday, March 6. 

All four age groups will feature a championship game on Sunday, March 7 for the right to go to USA Hockey Nationals. The Nationals tournament for the 14U and 15U age groups will be in Dallas, Texas and the tournament for 16U and 18U teams will be in St. Louis, Missouri.
