DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PITTSBURGH PENGUINS ELITE PLAYERS SELECTED IN USHL DRAFT

The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the premier junior hockey league in the country and talent from all corners of the United States makes up the rosters of the 16 team league. Phase I of the USHL Draft took place on Monday and Phase II yesterday. Two Pittsburgh Penguins Elite players had the honor of being chosen. Matthew DiMarsico was selected by Green Bay Gamblers and Austin Oravetz was selected by Dubuque Fighting Saints.

Matthew DiMarsico

The Green Bay Gamblers selected forward Matthew DiMarsico with the 39th overall pick.  Matthew played the 2019-20 season with the 15U Pens Elite team and recorded 77 points in 56 games. The Wexford, PA native was the first Pens Elite player selected during the USHL draft.  


Austin Oravetz

In Phase II of the draft, Pens Elite defenseman Austin Oravetz was selected by the Dubuque Fighting Saints with the 166th pick. The Canonsburgh, PA native recently played for the Pens Elite 16U team where he recorded 10 goals and 35 assists in 51 games.
