When Carter Schade was drafted first overall by the Lincoln Stars in the 2019 USHL Draft, he became the first local player to receive the honor of being selected at the top of the draft in the country’s top junior league. Today, at the 2019 DICK’S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic, he will be lucky enough to make his USHL debut in his home rink, the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Carter currently serves as one of the captains of the 16U Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team. This season, Carter, a defenseman, has registered 6 goals and 3 assists for a total of 9 points in only 10 games.

Carter is a native of Mars, PA and is committed to Penn State to play his college hockey. “I’m honored and blessed to be drafted by such a great organization,” Carter tweeted after being selected by Lincoln atop the draft in May. “This wouldn’t be possible without the Pittsburgh Pens Elite and all of the coaches who have helped me along the way.”

Congratulations to Carter and good luck moving forward!
