DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite Alum Cade Webber Selected in 2019 NHL Draft

Former DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite defenseman Cade Webber was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft over the weekend by the Carolina Hurricanes with the 99th overall pick. Webber, a native of Meadville, PA played in the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization from 2013 to 2016.

The 6’5”, 205 pound defenseman played the last 3 seasons at The Rivers School, a prep school in Massachusetts where last season, he was recorded 12 goals and 14 assists in 29 games. Webber was also selected to represent Team USA at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky tournament last summer in Alberta, and became the first Penguins Elite alum to represent the United States in a major international tournament. Next season, Cade will play for the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and has committed to play his collegiate hockey at Boston University.
