UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex & PPE to Play Host to USA Hockey National Championships

The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex and the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization are proud to play host to the 2019 Chipotle-USA Hockey Youth Tier I 14U National Championship. The tournament, which features 16 teams from around the country, begins on April 3rd and wraps up with the championship game on April 8th.

The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex and Pens Elite organization previously played host to the 16U and 18U National Championships in 2017.

 This year’s pool of teams features 3 former NHL players as head coaches: Milan Hejduk (Colorado Thunderbirds), Mike Richter (Mid Fairfield Jr. Rangers) and Craig Rivet (Buffalo Jr. Sabres).

The 16 teams are divided into 4 pools with 4 teams each. Each team will play 3 games against the others in its pool and the top 2 seeds from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals.
